Beginning Today, March 1st, all SEVEN metro locations of Johnnie's Charcoal Broiler will begin donating a portion of their proceeds to Hounds of the Heartland on the 1st Monday of each month!
Sales up to $299 = 10% donated!
$300 - $600 = 15% donated!
$600+ = 20% donated!
The event lasts all day so whether you go for lunch or dinner, mention you are with Hounds of the Heartland (or Greyhound Adoption) and a percentage of your total tab will be donated directly to HOH! Spread the word to your family, friends and coworkers and help raise money for a GREYT cause!

Spotlight on Cayenne!
**Cayenne has been adopted!**
Cayenne, formerly known as CayenneBarracuda, is a gorgeous Red Fawn colored 65 lb. boy. He has 10 registered races!
Cayenne is a loveable boy who just wants to have fun! He likes to play, run and play fetch. He can't understand why the cats don't want to play with him???? Not only is he handsome, but he is smart! He can sit, bow and stay. He seems to pick up commands easily. He would do well with another four legged friend to play with! He is cat and small dog safe. Greyhounds at On A Whim!
Saturday, March 27th from 12:00 - 4:00 Hounds of the Heartland will be showcasing our beautiful greyhounds at On A Whim!
On A Whim features unique, trendy and whimsical home accessories and décor in an upscale retail venue. They offer everything from housewares to jewelry & designer clothing. What an exciting location to show off our fabulous greyhounds!
We are selecting a few greyhounds to attend the event and ask you to please come visit us sans doggies; we want to be on our best behavior for this wonderful opportunity to educate the public about greyhound adoption in a prime retail location!
On April 24th, On A Whim is offering a 20% discount to anyone who donates $20 or more to Hounds of the Heartland. This is a huge shopportunity so don't miss out!

The Greyhound Gala!
Thank you for everyone who came out to make the first annual Greyhound Gala a HUGE success!! We raised almost $1,200, all of which will go directly towards finding homes for as many retired racers in 2010 as we possibly can!!
If you were unable to make it to the Gala, please enjoy our video of all the retired racers that were placed in homes in 2009 as well as pictures from the event! If you have suggestions for next year's event, please let us know!

**Ashlee has been adopted!**
Ashlee came to us from a farm in Southwest Oklahoma and she has no registered races. She is only 18 months old! She is a little sweetie and we are so happy to have her as a foster dog. She is currently available for adoption!
Here's what her foster family has to say about her:
Ashlee has been with us a short while but is starting to come out of her shell. As of now she is very sweet and a bit shy. She is already responding to her name! Ashlee is cat and small dog safe.

Her nose is slightly bent but that does not stop her from being so cute! Bella is an adorable, very personable little girl who loves everyone. She loves attention as much as she loves her toys. For a greyhound she is energetic, so she would do best in a home that enjoys a playful dog. She knows how to use doggie doors, travel in vehicles, walks well on a leash, and gets along with other dogs well. She loves children too!
