Norman Mardi Gras Parade

HOH is participating in the Norman Mardi Gras Parade this year on Saturday, February 13th at 6:45 PM.

Are you and/or your family members interested in participating and walking your greyhound in the parade with us? We will provide candy & beads to throw to the crowd. We will drive a vehicle in the parade with our banner on it as well as have donation buckets for our foster dogs. Dress your greyhound up in their finest bright colored Mardi Gras apparel and let's have a blast while saving the greyhounds!

The parade begins at the Santa Fe Depot on Jones St. and goes north, then east along
the 100 & 200 blocks of Main to Crawford, south to Comanche, and back around for another loop through Norman's Historic Downtown Arts District. The parade theme this year is "All You Need Is Love."

Please e-mail EmilyHummel@GreyhoundPetsOK.org or call 405-837-7266 if you are interested in participating. We will arrange a specific meeting place before the event.

Greyhound Gala POSTPONED: Re-mark your calendar!

Due to the severe weather alerts, the First Annual Greyhound Gala will be postponed to February 20, 2010 from 2:00 – 5:00 PM to protect the safety of our guests. With this decision in mind, we have found a more accommodating venue to meet the needs of our large crowd!

The postponed Greyhound Gala will be held at the Fenwick Clubhouse at 16801 Fenwick Blvd., Edmond, OK in the Fenwick Housing Edition. A map to the venue can be found below.

We will still have all the same greyt merchandise for sale and lots of door prizes! The $5 donation to attend will stay the same and 100% goes toward food, vet bills and supplies for the foster greyhounds.

We hope you will be able to attend the bigger & better First Annual Greyhound Gala!

Sincerely,
The HOH Gang

To reach the Clubhouse, go North on Pennsylvania Avenue and Turn East on 169th St. into the Fenwick edition. Turn right on Fenwick Blvd. and the Clubhouse will be on the right.

Welcome Home Amali!

Amali (formerly Elway) was adopted today and is very happy living with his new siblings and parents! Congratulations to the Alexander family!

Tux's Story

Tux was found roaming the streets of OKC and taken to the OKC Animal Shelter. He stayed there for the required 3 days and patiently waited for us to come pick him up. He had been fending for himself and was not succeeding; he was emaciated and very very hungry. He immediately went to the vet and weighed in at 51 lbs. He is a big boy and should weigh around 65-70 lbs. minimum, so he has some weight to gain!

He was given the special treatment at the vet and is now happy living in his foster home and and preparing to meet his forever family. Tux is currently on a medical hold while he regains his health, but he has already gained 2 lbs. and is doing great! Tux is a happy, affectionate 2 year old boy who deserves to be loved for the rest of his many years to come.

If you would like to sponsor Tux during his road to recovery, please visit https://www.change.org/donation/create?charity_id=34757&project_id=26426 and note "Tux" in comments. Thank you for your interest and support!!
