Hi everyone! Meet Cloud. She is looking for her forever home. Wouldn't it be great if she could wake up Christmas morning with her new loving family?

Cloud is an energetic, curious, extremely intelligent girl who loves attention! She loves to play with toys and would be a great playmate to another dog her size. She loves everyone! Cloud loves, LOVES to go on walks and responds well to commands... she is very eager to please! She is the perfect dog for someone who wants a companion to walk and play with.

Canned Pumpkin Shortage

Many of you may be aware of the canned pumpkin shortage this year due to heavy rains resulting in poor-quality pumpkins. Until next fall's harvest, Libby brand canned pumpkin may be very hard to find. If you aren't a greyhound owner you may not be aware how valuable this canned "gold" is to us! Many of us feed canned pumpkin to our greyhounds year round to help with diarrhea and upset tummies. It's also especially helpful for foster greyhounds who are having a hard time adjusting to dry kibble and probably even more helpful to their foster parents! :) If you see an excess at your local grocery store, go ahead and stock up for the year to come! If you don't need it for your doggies, our foster program is always needing supplies and canned pumpkin would be a great "Thanksgiving treat" for a foster dog with an upset tummy!

HOH in Stockyard City's Cowboy Christmas Parade!

Hounds of the Heartland will be participating in the uniquely western Christmas Parade in OKC's own Historic Stockyards City. The parade will be held Saturday, December 5th at 10:00 AM. Some of us will be at Leadership Square that morning but don't worry-- we wouldn't miss the parade for anything!

"Cowboy Christmas" features Championship Rodeo Cowboys, Rodeo Royalty, country singers, Native American dress, round-up clubs, classic farm tractors, public officials, media celebrities, 100 longhorn steer parading down the street, and a real Cowboy Santa! (and us!!)

Christmas Lights Show to benefit HOH!

Every year Brad and Trisha Whitley (one of our fabulous foster families) put on a huge Christmas Light Show at their house in Edmond. This year they are setting up a donation box for Hounds of the Heartland so people can stop by to see the light show and donate to our favorite cause! There are thousands of lights on their house and yard all synchronized with music!

Please make it a point to stop by and check out the amazing show and support our precious foster dogs this holiday season!

Whitley's Christmas Light Show:

6-10 PM every night (starting Thanksgiving night)

New Show & Tell location set for February 6, 2010!

Our friends at Paws Around Town and Northpark Mall in OKC have agreed to let us hold a Show & Tell event at their store on February 6, 2010 from 12:00 - 4:00 PM! This is currently a one time event but if we have a big turnout and well behaved dogs there is potential to make this a recurring monthly Show & Tell! Paws Around Town is located in Northpark Mall on the corner of 122nd & May Ave. in NW Oklahoma City. We'd love for you to come visit and bring new business to the area. Mark your calendar and tell your friends!

HOH at Downtown in December!

Mark your calendars for December 5th! Hounds of the Heartland will have a booth at Leadership Square during the Annual Sandridge Santa Run and after party featuring a Costume Contest and Health Fair!

The event will include a 5k run, a One-Mile fun run, and a Santa Clause Kid's dash for tots as well as cash prizes for the best costumed runners. The run starts and ends at Leadership Square (211 N. Robinson) downtown at 9:00 AM but the festivities last long after! We will set up our booth at 8:00.

We are hoping to reach an entirely new group of potential foster homes and adopters so please spread the word about this fun event!
